The new type of titanium aluminum carbide and titanium carbide composite hydrogen storage material is prepared by pressing titanium aluminum carbide powder and titanium carbide powder into a sintering furnace, heating to 600-950°C for 3-8 hours, and then cooling to Room temperature.
 
Compared with existing hydrogen storage materials and technologies, it has the following advantages:
 
1. In the prepared titanium aluminum carbide and titanium carbide composite hydrogen storage material, the main function of titanium aluminum carbide compound is to provide a channel for hydrogen diffusion and promote the diffusion of hydrogen in the hydrogen storage material, and titanium carbide is the main carrier for hydrogen storage. The composite hydrogen storage material obtained by the combination of the two has both good hydrogen storage and release thermodynamic performance and high hydrogen storage capacity; tests show that the hydrogen storage capacity of the composite hydrogen storage material reaches 2.6%.wt-3.6%. Between wt, the hydrogen storage and release rate is 1-3 times higher than that of pure titanium carbide hydrogen storage materials.

 
2. The prepared composite hydrogen storage material has excellent chemical stability and oxidation resistance, and has high resistance to impurity gas poisoning and cycle stability when storing hydrogen;
 
3. The preparation method is simple, the raw materials are abundant and the price is low.
